sleep paralysis

According to the lore of several traditions when a person is awakened from their sleep and cannot move it is said that the incubus is riding their back...its funny, because i experience this on occassion and the most recent day that i felt this i was reading about the incubus and the succubus vai online material. HAs anyone else felt this insane phenomena? Speaking from a scientific perspective, when the mind is still in r.e.m. the body on occassion opens the eyes of the person and when one is dreaming the brain paralyzes the body to prevent injury from stimulating dreams and or nightmares. MAgickally speaking I think that i myself was astral projecting during the night and woke up stuck...my God, sleep paralysis sucks! I had my special doll in the room, her name is claire, she is very nurturing and not malevolent at all, her host is a porcelain doll and she brought me back to and I was able to move again...I think she pulled mny soul back into my body, it was like in the air somewhere or some junk. Yes, i have haunted dolls folks...anyways has anyone experienced this?

This used to happen to me a lot as a child, it hasnt happened for years. I couldnt move, I couldnt scream........as a child it was very frightening, I was about 6 years old when it happened. I also had dreams as a child where I would be watching myself sleep and would be hovering above my bed and being in a black section of the wall.....I dont really know what it means but when it happened I wasnt afraid.....but being paralyzed did frighten me....what does it all mean?

What does sleep paralysis mean? Its boggling! I have heard of children having night terrors, dark mist, parents think its just a bad dream. What they do not know is that since the person is stuck between the realm of reality and the subconscious that the things that are in the dream seem all to real and tangible. The brain interprets although in a coma like stupor still interprets the environment as a sensory threat and thus distorts the person's mind by causing themk to feel extraneous presences.

I think your describing astral projection. If you wake up before your soul is back in your body or wake up while your soul is entering your body, your going to feel paralyzed, or like something is sitting on top of you, or the feeling that you can't breathe. There are exercises you can do that can help you control your astral power. I would recommend doing that and see if your night time paralysis stops.

Astral projection is what magic people say, but then how do you explain the other entity in the room with you? The "scientific" reports on it just say that since your hearts racing your mind trys to figure out why thats happening so you make up a form of something that scares you which is often something black from the shadows or darkness and something that sits, hovers or stands by you. Idk, but for me it was as real as real life, it never happened to me again but theres no way im buying the astral or scientific view, cause it was an attack and i dont have that good of an imagination.

This used to happen to me a lot, too... but only got the feeling of "a presence" the first time (I was 11) so whenever it happened afterwards I considered it just a biological glitch, kind of like the opposite of sleepwalking. (Except I could see the room through my eyelids even though they were closed, so, hmm ...) Not that that made it better. Yes, sleep paralysis sucks! I've heard some rare people find the experience blissful, though...

I studied astral projection so that I could deal better with the sleep paralysis, but nowadays I don't think one has so much to do with the other...

eh no I know what i am talking about, I normally project in my sleep and the body remains conscious during this time but the body is fully relaxed and immobilized. I awoke and felt like part of myself was still hovering and i got pulled back into myself by Claire. The end.

Of course. Excuse me, I didn't mean to imply that your experience was false-- but just in case people thought sleep paralysis is necessary for astral projection, I only meant to suggest that it wasn't.
