that's part of it. an important part of it...so yes

i like rituals, im into rituals, i love candles and sigils and incense and using long strings of inpronouncable words...and other such things so if were making an amulet i would use visualization as part of the ritual for the charging of the object.

Buckland's book of candle magic has some cool rituals for that sort of job and im sure the google machine could spit something out for you too,

but yea, you hit the nail on the head ...visualization is a key component

I use concencration spell when i make my amulets and talisman i concencrate them 3X with salt,incense,candle flame( i use black candles) and with water
