Altar question

I Can't have a permanent altar just yet. I live in one of those extended stay motels, in a room with my parents. There's only so much I can do at the moment. Is it Okay to have a temporary altar I put up and can put away? Or should I wait until I can fully give everything I want to give? I don't have much to offer now, but I don't mind. I just don't want to offend.

I do not leave mine up all of the time. I set my altar up in conjunction with what I am doing at the particular time. I really do not have room for one up permanent either.

My life was in showbusiness and I travelled a lot! I carried with me an altar cloth (green), two candle sticks, a censor, and two small ceramic bowls. I set my altar cloth wherever I stayed, spread on a beside table or locker. So far as I was concerned, that was my altar; temporary or not!

Another thing done in the Northern Tradition is a small altar jar. You can find a small jar and fill it with items you would place on an altar. It's small, and can be put out of the way, easy to travel with.
