What is a good way to honor and care for them? I think I may have unwittingly insulted them.

Really much the same way you honor and work with the landvaettir. You can leave out little offerings for them, make a spirit house, etc.

Milk and honey. They also like to see their name displayed in your home. But just like any other thoughtform, like servitors and tulpas, if you keep them around too long they eventualy become disgruntled that they cannot become independent of you and then need to be reabsorbed into your energy field or aura.

Husvaettir and other home spirits are nothing like thoughtforms. They are their own independent entities. They would exist even if you didn't.

I wasn't talking about husvaettir. I was answering the original post. And yes, they are. You will see.

I had one in an old house that I would leave a bottle of rum open on a shelf for. I had to replace it with fresh bottle once a month as it would mysteriously evaporate in a months time. I miss that old house. It never got robbed in a high robbery area and being military back then I had nice stuff.

Wicca, the post is asking about Husvaettir- the House Spirits of the Northern Tradition. That's why it is in the Norse Paganism forum. It is very different from other types of thoughtforms, etc.
