Hi! Im Candice,im 20 years old and Im new. Well not that new, ive tried magic when I was young, and my first spell that I did actually worked, but I was raised in a Christian home and I always felt like I was doing something wrong... But Ive always been drawn to magic, and Im always interested in learning more. But Ive learned more to be myself and make my own decisions. I finally feel like myself, and I love this website because I can interact with people like myself, and feel more comfortable talking more openly about these things without being judged.
It always amuses me when Christians condemn magic. and/or witchcraft.
They believe in all the "miracles" of Jesus; and all about the miracles of Moses. But then do not believe in magic! Of course, the Christians will then claim that only God can work miracles.
But Moses was not God!
Hi Candice. Welcome to SoM. I understand what you went through and I'm only 15 lol. But I decided to call myself a Christian Witch since witchcraft is only the practice of the craft and I channel my energy through God. I hope you have a great time here and enjoy everything. Merry meet and blessed be.
I have read the bible a few times and feel i have a pretty good understanding of it. Moses' signs and mirales were deliberate acts of god so that the people would surely know who god is. That is why every time pharoe agreed to let the isrealites go after each plague god had moses wave with his hand upon all of egypt except for the isrealites who remained protected, the lord would then harden the pharoes heart so that he would not let gods people go and serve him. So god could have moses wave on another plague or send the sea crashing down on the pursuing egyptions, pharoe included, while the isrealites walked onto dry land and bore witness without a doubt that the god of moses and abraham was indeed lord.
Wiccadoll, you are taking the Bible as literal truth. It isn't! And was never meant to be. Those "stories" you quote were written by Moses himself!
I haven't only "read" the Bible a few times. I have "studied" it, thoroughly. You are quoting the Christian/Judaic interpretation of it. Look for the truth,"behind" the words.
Hi Candice, welcome! I'm new here too, I've been practicing magick since I was about 12 or 13. Everybody in my family is either strongly Christian or Catholic and basicalled damned me to hell when they found out. A Pagan friend of mine brought up an interesting theory that really made me think. She believes that Jesus was actually a witch, hence all the miracles (or magick, however you look at it). It's not something that I believe wholly, but it seems like plausable if you think about it from our standpoint :)
Glad you feel comfortable here. This is the only place I can talk about my true self without feeling like people think I'm deranged.
I don't take the entire bible literaly. For instance, god instructed the jews to do certain things back in those days to preserve themselves as far as daily life is concerned. Today and in the future those things change. Not to mention that what we are talking about is the old testament. Christians put the new testament ahead of that.
