Is there a reason some (er...most) spells don't work for me? I think its just the spells I use, the ones that only require you to say the spell but doesn't involve any ingredients, but even the ones that do involve ingredients (like candles, etc.) don't work. So does it mean I'm like doing the spell wrong or is it just my magical abilities or something??
Cuz I kinda believe this stuff is possible but most of it just seems far- fetched, like Body Switching or Mermaid spells. Are any of those things possible?? I mean I want to believe but I've never actually heard of any of it happening. So there's doubt in my mind, I just want to believe it. And I want to know why my spells don't work.

Have you learned basic techniques, such as centering/ grounding and meditation? These are the fundamental building blocks of our practises. And if a "spell" seems far-fetched and ridiculous, it is. Now, you must believe in yourself completely. This is not arrogant by any stretch. The user lends a portion of themselves to the energy they channel and direct, hence there must be no doubt in the mind when it is sent forth. I have very few tools personally, but can cast using myself as the tool. The best and most powerful spells are the ones you create yourself, as they are in essence, you.

"Cuz I kinda believe this stuff" is your reason. Belief is most important in magick. Just use your common sense about the spells on here. You know you can't grow wings. Mermaids, um.....no. You cannot go against nature; can't change dna, nor shoot fire out of your hands. Learn more on how magick works. You may be missing some important steps. Hope this helped. BB

Well, if you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.
You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.
Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.
So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

for one you cant change DNA duh! And for two you only half believe
now im guessing your just a person who thinks you can say a spell and poof it works, and you need to know the basics.
if your in a religion well im wiccan you should follow basics.
1. learn all the history bout magic and witchcraft you'll noyice patterns
for two: get to know the elements burn a candle and put your palms and feel the heat.us go for a walk and count your breath, pick up soil and last take a bath with salt and feel the water. Also you got to learn about the elements and how to use them
next learn the moon,days,colors, and corrospondences,
now try a spell
The most important thing, added to what the others have already said, is that written spell work is a way to trick your mind into manifesting the power that comes from you through our Mother Gaia. It is all a tool to guide you to your intent. The magick does not lie in the words or in the candles, but in the energy, focus and intent you put into it. Furthermore, remember that you cannot believe everything you read online. Make sure your sources are valid and authenticated
If they whore possible would they be in the fantasy and trick sections?(...) ow whats that NO whell good than, magic cant do the impossible, start by lurning aboat magic and what it really is, cause clearly (if thats a serious questions) you have don no such thing
