Epilepsy

OK so here is a theory i worked out about the "diease of the kings" with all the info i gatherred up until now (though it passed only a few seconds), it seems this disease affects the nervous system causing a type of sensitivity to the energyes (this sensitivity can be used to improve even further the progress in the esoterical sciences, so i advice if someone with this "gift" reads this dont let this go to waste) that are around us not only that but it also works like some sort of link between our mind and higher vibrational planes (in an unconscious manner) allowing the people who have it to have acces to a much more advanced level of knowledge.

Persons with this type of disease also tend to be "destined to greatness" i found on wiki a list with personalities who had this disease and i was stunned to wath i found out even Hercule is on the list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_with_epilepsy

Though it seems taht their lifespan is rather "limited", many of the bearers of this "sacred disease" died at a young age.

I don't think that very many people with epilepsy would consider it a gift. Epilepsy is caused by mundane things, such as complications during birth and head trauma. Seizures happen when there is some sort of disruption between the connections in the nerve cells. During the dark ages, it was thought to have supernatural causes, but science has since progressed. If you ask me, there is nothing mystical about it.

Agree with Xena. Further this is nonsense and offensive. I have a pagan friend who is epileptic and it is painful, frustrating and embarrassing affliction to him. Not magical nor miraculous.

My wife has epilepsy,(Ex-wife now, though still fiends) and it is certainly NOT a disease! Her epilepsy was caused by damage to the temporal lobe of her brain at birth. Her "fits" are controlled by the drug Tegretol, and she is able to drive!
The seizures of epilepsy are best described (To children with the complaint) as a damn holding back a great lake. Now and then a "flash flood" of heavy rain will occur, and the damn will over-flow.When all the surplus water has gone, the lake becomes just as tranquil as it was before the "flood". That, is epilepsy! And it has wide and varied effects. Some people have just one seizure in their life, and never have another. My wife used to have both types of seizure quite regularly; Petite Mal and Grand Mal.
To people who don;t understand, a Grand Mal can be very frightening! Many people have no idea what to do when they see a "seizure". Best advice? Leave them alone! They will recover in a few minutes!

By the way, as for dying young, one of the well-known members of the British Epilepsy Association is 91! And he has epilepsy!

it is not a disease. my brother has it. It has affected in so many ways financially, mentally, and physically. If you think it is a "gift" you are bad wrong in my opinion. He cant go to the Imax and watch a film. He cant go to skating rinks with his kids and certain stores because of strobe lights. This so called "gift" has caused him to go to the hospital to get stitches a number of times.
