I don't know about their relation to spell casting but there are places I find intruiging where you can literally feel the presence of a magnetic fields that affect things like compasses. In Europe there's a set of stones if I recall correctly that has this affect though I cannot recall the names of some of these locations.

There are plenty, just hard to point out. There is a huge crystal cave somewhere..a few actually. And Flowing volcanoes, as well as hot springs. Some religions believe the highest mound of land in town is the 'peak of power'.

No the power of the spell depends on the expericene and power of the caster.

'Places of Power' are usually self-cleansing, so there is a good chance for a successful cast. The place itself brims with earth energy and can, with practice be harnessed.

I do believe there are, yes. Several places I have been to just have this overwhelming feeling to them. You know that there is a lot more energy there than other places, regardless of the reasoning.

Some places are just filled with natural energy and they're, well, out in nature. Also, I saw a post about the "highes mound if land being 'peaks of power'" and would like to add to that note: in Shinto (and a lot of other paths), the higher the altitude of something, the closer it is to God, Heaven, the Celestial Plane.

Yes, and they have been honored for thousands of years. Bodies of water in general are usually seen as such, especially those with movement (rushing rivers, waterfalls, waves, etc.). There are also places where the veil appears thinner. Usually they can be found in the woods/forests but they aren't publicized. Some call these ley lines, faery roads, etc. One "tales" I heard of is that there are "death roads" that connect every cemetary, and if you draw straight lines on a map to connect all the cemetaries in your area, and note where the lines cross, you have your spirit crossroads. I've never tried it, but if anyone does, let me know how it works out for you. I've always been curious about that one.

I live over a nice place of power. Of course, that is what drew me most to this house before I understood why. It's a house on a hill over an underground lake with a forest behind it. At night it's hard to tell what is an animal and what is pure spirit.

Usually places of power are old and relatively unaltered by humans. But you can create your own place of power by making a sacred space that you visit everytime you practice magick. The repetition of magick (especially the same rituals) will naturally form a place of power that eventually anyone could use to facilitate their communication with spirits and amplification of casted spells. This is why some people that create their own altars. I personally have an altar but I prefer the forest as long as the raccoons keep their distance!

But power doesn't have to come in "places" either. Right now, for instance, it's beginning to storm. The raw power felt from a storm always makes me want to practice magick. Just be sure to stay safe. We had some foolishly brave experimenters test out if magick can attract lightening. Let's just say, they never want to try that again! It was rather interesting though. I'm definitely not that brave or maybe I'm just smarter? =P

There is also this place near Death Valley, California where rocks move on their own during the night. There are places like that all over the world actually. It's mostly unexplained but scientists think there's some sort of magnetic field there, though i don't know if anyone's tried detecting it or not.
