Actual Goddes: Yay or Nay

So I'm watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which is a fun show, but some of it is full of bs compared to how things really are, though all it is is a fun show), when Willow said a prayer to the goddess Neisa. So I tried looking her up on Google to see if I could find any sites that said what culture she was from, but all I got were sites leading back to Buffy. So my question is... Is Neisa even a real goddess? Or is she just something made up by Joss Whedon and his team?

If you can't find any actual information pertaining to the goddess in question, then she is most likely fake.

But also obviously a TV show would be more popular and is also owned by a company so its more likely to show up higher on the list than a simple informative page on the goddess. I know this because I've been in similar situations where, even the show or video game or movie was good and might be the real reason I even cared to study a topic but it really made information hard to find

I have never heard of Neisa, and as far as I am aware, she is not a real Goddess, and was probably just made up for the TV show. :)

Sorry but no, she's not a real Goddess, just a creation of the show.

But let me ask, why are you so interested in a Goddess? Are you feeling drawn in some way? If you are and you have a feeling about the characteristics of Neisa that appeal to you then you might want to look in actual mythologies and see if there is a Goddess out there that resonates with you.

There are a number of goddess, which represent "chance and fortune", but none which are named, Neisa.

Thank you, guys, for your information. I am always interested in mythology and am curious about deities I've not heard of before. Buffy uses a lot of random goddess names, some I recognize as real, normally Greek, others I've never heard. So I was just wondering. Thank you ^.^

I did a little research on this and it turns out that in your show, Neisa was a goddess of fortune and chance. Maybe this will help your exploration of similar goddesses in existing cultures. :)

I couldn't find anything on a goddess named Neisa. I did, however, find that the name Neisa is short for both Nemesis and Agnes.
