I am curious Wicca because I would like to be more spiritually connected with everything. I have dealt with social anxiety for a long time and I have felt that I lacked discipline with myself. I am intrigued by the spiritual practice of Wicca and would like to learn more to see if I would be interested. Tired of following. Looking to learn for myself what I would like to practice for life. I am trying to keep pop cultural imagery out of my understanding of it, as well...I have often felt that Wicca was devil worship or just evil; however, I now would like to embrace the good aspects of practice.

Merry meet. I'm on my phone so sorry I can't provide links, but if you look at the main threads in the Wicca section, you'll find a pinned thread of helpful links to get you started in your studies.
Please note, while Wiccans take a lot of responsibility for their actions, thoughts, and connection with deity, there are some rules. There are universal rules like the Wiccan Rede [As in Harm None, Do as Ye Wilt] but there are personal rules that you choose after soul searching, based off your views and beliefs. These might change over time, but the path is not without rules.
As you have probably already learned, Wicca is not evil or associated with the devil. Wiccans do not believe in the devil, or have an all powerful being of pure evil. Good and evil reside inside us all, and it is our job to keep everything in balance, doing our best to help instead of harm.
Your first step is really the year and a day ritual where you study and practice for a year and a day. After said time, you choose to convert or walk away. There are good articles here, and books are listed in some of the links pinned in the Wicca section. Personally, books by Raymond Buckland, Scott Cunningham and Stuart and Janet Farrar are good places to start. You should also sit down and make a list of reasons why Wicca is right for you. Look at your answers, meditate on them, if they are things like 'power over others' or 'to look cool' you might be doing this for the wrong reasons.
Thank You. I will think more about why I am considering Wicca. I hope that through some soul searching I find that this could be my spiritual practice. From what I have learned from you tubers and online research, it feels right for me. Your suggestions are very useful! I appreciate it.
Thank You, Lark. I have another question...How many divisions of Wicca practice are there and are any of them evil? I noticed on the front page a group with the upside down cross. Are they a part of Wiccan practice or are they separate from Wiccan practice?

No part of Wicca is evil. Wicca is a religion. You are looking at the site thinking all is Wicca. It is not. We are here for the purpose of magick, which comes in many forms and varieties.

As has been said, Wicca is a religion and it is certainly not evil. That concept is something that those who know little about the religion claim about us, but it is not true.
The upside down cross is not a Wiccan symbol and has nothing to do with Wicca.
Might you encounter a Wiccan who is evil? Sure, you might. Just as you might encounter an evil person in any religion. People are people after all.
Thank You both. I realize now that this site does not just include Wiccan knowledge...I got so caught up in learning about Wicca that I missed that when I viewed the coven section of this site.
