how can you tell if someone has had a spell cast on them or against them?

They may have bad luck feel ill or any number of things really. If you think your hexed, I recommend a cleansing. If you know you were cast on, send it back to the caster, preferably many times worse than what was sent to you, but that's just my opinion.

Divination is the best way to check on the nature of such things.

I'm new to this site so I'm still figuring the ins and outs. I came across your comment. I truly belive I've been hexd. How do I rid myself of the hex and send it back?

I agree with whiteraven. i think a pendulum is the best and easiest way to ask yes or no questions, when you are not sure, but that is my personal opinion. Amber Willow, if i were you i would start my own thread, give it a title and go into more depth.
