The original Illuminati were the exceptionally clever people.Leonardo Da Vinci,Sir Isaac Newton, would be classed as Illuminati. But the modern idea of the Illuminati is fake! It's nonsense! They even claim that the British Royal Family are members of the Illuminati; and that really is a joke!
There is sooooo much exaggeration of what the Illuminati actually is out there because there are so many ignorant people who are clueless what it's actually about because they lack effort to do any deep research and they watch a few videos and it's too crazy for their perception to be considered true. And then people turn small things into big things and blame the Illuminati for little things that actually aren't even the Illuminati then those claims look fake to everyone else who's actually interested in the concept of the Illuminati's existence....
Supposedly all of the rich banksters and the richest people in the world like the Rothschilds, Bill Gates, Bilderbergs, etc. are the leaders of this world and they own the politics, the government, the corporations, the media, the mainstream, the everything. I heard that they are Satanic but I believe this is just a method used by people like Alex Jones or Jesse Ventura or people like that who just want to make money from this conspiracy theory niche, so they say things like the Illuminati is Satanic in ordered to get Christians and religious people to not like them.. or even atheists that is..
Ah,yes! The richest people in the world, and the rich bankers, rule the world. There was a famous man (or rather infamous) who thought exactly that. His name was Adolf Hitler.
Ok Illuminati are philosophical, private, invite only for world richest and most intellectual and/or educated people, they have no official leader although senior members take on that role somewhat, NO it is not related ti Satan in any way because aside for the seclusion/meditation part of the initiation(initiate is left in the room with very little light and with "items"(pros made out of plastic mostly) that represent death for 8 hours(mostly night time, they are not allowed to sleep) to think/meditate on the path there life is taking and will take later on) they are for most part rather conservative in there behavior and codes of conduct.
It has a so-called "membership" of the rich and famous. None of whom are actually members of this so-called "world domination".
It is just an Urban myth.

I must restate my first sentence- it is a fanciful claim- I do not, and think it would be wrong to believe, there is an actual lineage from the original illuminati.
