Your spirit animal is the spiritual being that helps guide you in your life. You can try to look for a guided meditation that helps you 'see' your spirit animal, in fact, I recommend it. Also, be open minded, and don't expect an exact animal to show up in your meditation, as it your spirit animal might not be the animal you expect, or a different spirit guide will show up that isn't an animal at all. Try to communicate with them too through prayer pr simply talking to them, and they might let their presence be known.
Have you ever considered the possibility that one does not find his or her spirit animal? For me it's the other way around - Spirit helpers/animals find us. In my beliefs 'they' are not even animals, but can appear as such.
In the traditional beliefs of several tribes, the spirit helper comes to a female during her fist menstrual cycle/s, a time when she would be separated from the others in a special lodge.
I'm not familiar with the concept of each and every person having their own individual spirit animal, but if you're just looking for an animal spirit to be your companion, then you could spiritually "call out" for such an animal spirit each and every day, whether that be through ritual, guided meditation, or just mentally sending your desire out into the universe. You'll get a response sooner or later.
Mine appeared in dreams. I think they are animals your spirit represents, or animals you have a connection with. I have connections with canine animals. I once made friends with a wolf dog. They are part wolf part dog. They can be tamed due to being half dog. They are predators being half wolf.
I personally find it easier if u are in the sprirt plaine its really easy to get there even though it takes practise just put ur right arm above ur head every night this helps control your body while u are asleep once u have control in the spiritual plaine u will be able to find ur Spiritual guieds, it will take time to get this all under control it took me 6 months to understand the spirit plaine and 2 years to find all 7 spirtual guieds they live in the spirit plaine and u can invoke them once u are friends with them they resemble who u are,but be careful they are dangerouse so understand ur intenshion while asking them for help

I cannot understand this belief in a Spirit animal. Why would any other animal be bothered about a human animal? Apart from domestic pets, they couldn't care less! I think Atehequa is probably right; they are not animals at all!

I prefer the view of the "Spirital Animal" theories being purely ones own psyche taking an animal as a representation of itself , since 90% of the time their "spirit animal" seems to end up being their favorite animal and what they "identify" with. Because i do not believe that any being exists purely to serve/guide someone , that'd be counter-intuitive twords anything in nature or existance , same way we dont inherently live to serve someone or something.
This however i do not relate to path related views of animal aspects or spirits such as Totems or Nagualism , but rather the new age take on "Spirit animals" that many newbies have.
