could some one tell me how i could protect myself from anxiety and get get better longer sleep

Try meditations for rid from anxiety, and why not use some sleeping pills or drinks for a better sleep, else try to spend a busy day, so that at night time you naturally will be tired, in need of rest, a deep sleep.

Try drinking a cup of chamomile tea before bed, and rubbing lavender essential oil on your pulse points. Both are very soothing herbs and can help to relax you. If you can find it, they have wonderful lavender bath soaks and lotions as well that you could use before bed. Also remember to avoid caffeinated drinks 2-3 hours before bed.
If it's a serious issue, I would consult your physician, as he or she might be able to offer you some better guidance, medications, etc.
