So my cousin hosted an introduction to hypnotherapy at her house and the guy who was doing it used me as an example and put me into a deep trance. I could hear everything around me and he told me to imagine being somewhere happy so I thought of the beach. After I walked through my 'door' I was there and it felt great. I know this was far deeper than my imagination as it was so realsitic fron the noises and the sights and the sand beneath my feet. When I was brought out of it my face felt really warm as if I had been to a beach. When I was brought out of it I felt extremely calm and elated and I wandered if this is an astral experience. Coment below if you have had a similar experience!

its just hypnosis hypnosis is more vivid and all that because your mind dos not wander, but i suppose that you could call it astral projection because you create a actual space in your mind and then go to that place but weather you can call it ap is debatable, i sometimes do it when i need to be alone with my thoughts
I'd say it was more of a hypnotic trance or state of being. Astral projection is entirely different. I've only hit the vibration stage properly. I'd love to be hypnotized! Sounds interesting.
Trance is a key part of the astral projection method, in fact there are many aspects of magical practice which work upon trance. Hypnosis and magic are very closely linked.
I would say it is similar to an astral method. You were exploring your own mind, a part of your own imagination and subconscious. Many people get stuck there when trying to do astral projection in my opinion.
The point of astral projection is to attempt to go beyond that. TO reach the collective unconscious, or astral plane. BUt what you did here sounds akin to lucid dreaming and is therefore in my opinion a valid practice for attempting to astral project- or as the Golden Dawn called it, "Travelling in the spirit vision".
I would disagree, that is what many people confuse astral projection with- lucid dreaming. They also think swimming arond in their subconscious is astral projection. It is not.
Accessing the collective unconscious is not accessing something within yourself, that is only within you, it is a shared experience and resides outside of the mind as well as inside.
Lucid dreaming helps in the consciousness control, but astral projection is about the attempt to contact external beings, not play around with internal manifestations of guilt and fear.
