Sigil charging

So I've been reading about sigils and after some thinking I come to the conclusion that I can't really get the whole picture of why one should destroy the sigil as a means of charging. Couldn't one just draw it on there body like a tattoo(I mean kids do it all the time in school) and just charge it with there energy when they need it or when they feel like its effect is wearing off?

The reason some say to destroy it is I believe similar to "forgetting" about a spell you did. It takes your mind off it so that you do not worry about whether or not it will work. I have destroyed a few when charging but I have also kept some and do not really see a difference myself. To each his own.

Ok thanks Ere_Nexus's. I have tested multiple sigils and have found that even without destroying I tend to "forget" anyways. I've discovered that it feels much easier to charge a sigil if I where to draw it on my body like a tattoo and charge it withy own energy. Now I'm trying to see if I store energy in them and seein how well they work a few days later when I activate them. Sorta like a standby mode with a on/off switch! Anyways thanks again for taking the time to help clarify it Ere_Nexus's.
