I want to thank you all first to help with my situation. When i do metaphysical type stuff, it is only for positive. I only do cleansing, road opener, protection, banish. Pretty much i just want to be left alone. Anyhow, i just did a spell where because of how my living is, my kids all over the place i cannot leave candle burning where i would like. Also i have pets so it also makes it hard. Well last night because of my paranoia i blew it out. My focus and intent has not changed but was wondering does this affect it. They are burning good still. I am doing a banishing spell. I do not have doubts that it will work. I am going to let it keep burning. Just your thoughts.
Well, it really depends on what you believe. There are many people who believe blowing out a candle is disrespectful to the element of Fire as well as the deity you may be working with during the spell/ritual. I was just listening to a woman talk about this and she brought up a good idea that if you're trying to work on a spell to have the candle burn itself out throughout the day and/or night then put it in your bathtub filled to s good point of water or put it in a nice sized bowl of water so you're not worrying about it falling and causing a fire. You can also try light up candles so you don't have to worry about a flame and you can light for however long you'd like.
think of it like this: if the wind blew out a candle outside would the wind be disrespecting fire, however I believe it is more effective to let it burn out but I have had successful results with blowing it out.

Well, some people will tell you to simply march on. Others will tell you that you blew it out so you finished off that particular working. Others will say it is disrespectful or that you are 'blowing away' the magic. I would restart the working after I did a cleansing, but you have to trust yourself and do what you know is right.
It's a belief, I snuff out my candles more because it's what I first learned so it's a habit. Some say it's disrespectful to the element of fire, others say you blow away some energy. On the other hand, people don't believe you can blow away energy, and you're incorporating air into the spell. Again, it's a belief.
Like others have said,it is mainly belief, but in most spells that I've seen,it doesn't really even matter if you blow out the candle.
Frankly,I believe it's good to do so.
