Familiars

Okay, I have heard different things about familiars like others have. I was wondering how you summon them, or if you discover them, or if you create them. I am curious as to how it is done. I was wondering if someone could provide background knowledge on the subject, and tell me how to "get" one. I would reseaech the topic but fear of trolls keeps me from doing so. I would like a valuable source and to tell me how it has worked for you and such. Thank you if you choose to help.

The only way I know is creating them, like a thoughtform, but some say them can be found.

I took a look at your profile, I think you need more training to try this with a high success rate, it takes a lot of time and energy. My last attempt was a total failure after an hour (made me eternal).

As you know, I am still studying and learning the basics. I want to figure out how to do it, then after a few weeks (or months depending on success) of study and practice, I wish to take a shot at it. And what do you mean by "made you eternal." As far as I know (which is not much yet) I thought it was impossible?
