That's a lesser type demon, you should be able to get rid of it by simply burning some sage.

just make sure it doesn't corrupt your dreams

In general, wouldn't burning sage just attract energies? I'd suggest casting a protection spell or perhaps a banishing spell to rid your house of it. Let me check my herbs, I'll tell you if any are good for smudging.

If it were me I'd cast a circle and use a mixture of sage and lavender to rid any negative energy from your house, and whilst burning the two I would declare that all negative energy be banished. That way anything that resides in your home that is not positive will be banished.

So, a good friend of mine has been seriously tormented by a demon for many years. I need to find a way to get rid of it asap. The biggest problem is, I haven't really done any magic before. What should I do...?

And how do you know there is an imp in your house? I mean - how does one know generally?
