Do curses actually work? Obviously you can't make certain things happen, but is it possible to make someone feel the same pain they caused you? If so, is it wrong to do so?
I personally believe it is possible, with willpower and the right words.
I think it depends on the situation. It's an area of grey-morality. Some will condemn it no matter what the situation, and others will approve it no matter what the situation. In the end, your choices are your choices, and by living in a constant state of 'guilt' over putting a curse on someone, you're just going to draw negative energy to you, or even worse, connect random events that happen and call it 'karmic backlash.'
I'd be a hypocrite if I told you that curses are absolutely wrong and must never never never be used. Granted, the last time I used black magic, I was only helping a friend- it was really her project. That and I was young and foolish.
Different religions believe different things. Karmic Backlash, Law of Three, original sin, sevenfold- all of these things are what people will bring against you as consequences for revenge. What you believe is purely up to you. I don't believe in any of those things. I can say that living in a mindset that would condemn you for taking revenge against someone who hurt you could certainly draw negative energy to your life, but the act itself could not, unless your victim was protected in some way and the spell bounced back on you.
There are many precautions you must take, and you must weigh everything very carefully. Whether you decide to meditate on this, consult the stars, talk to your deities, or maybe make a pros and cons list like I would- it's all up to you. My only concrete advice is please do not take what you are doing lightly, and please keep yourself safe.
The above is all my personal opinion and experience. Take it with a grain of salt.
Yes it is possible to cause physical pain with curse magick. But the intention must be great and it most likely leave to exausted and weak. Typically thay should be cast before sleeping because of this draining effect. If you want further information, I would check out E.A Koettings grimoire, Baneful Magick.
Obviously you can't make certain things happen, but is it possible to make someone feel the same pain they caused you?
If you can craft a spell that would manifest the pain you experienced, absolutely.
If so, is it wrong to do so?
This question is entirely up to you. Personally, I leave it to God above.
Long Answer:
Do curses actually work?
Curses are a prevalent part of many practices and can be done in a variety of mediums (sympathetic magic, rootwork, spiritwork etc.). A curse's effectiveness hinges on a few things:
Your competence:
Depth of knowledge and the extent of practical experience can be a dividing factor between a well cast curse and a shambling, "back-firing" mess. Basic knowledge is important, this will help you choose the right tools, times, and methods for what you wish to do. This can help you weed out poorly written curses you find, should you prefer to not write your own. Practical experience will give a curse it's edge. Understanding how well some tools work together and how poorly others harmonize helps immensely.
2. Time and Energy:
Putting thought and energy into a work not only sets a foundation for later foundation, it will help to minimize unexpected effects in the worker's own life, thus lowering the amount of "back-fire". The time you spend thinking and fleshing out a curse will help feed it as you build it later.

A poppet to is affected with a similar pain which will manifest similair issues in the targets. Remember, poppets are a form of sympathetic magic, it doesn't have to be exact! Get creative, maybe even expand beyond your own pain with some extra. I love poppets because as it's craft with the comprising items (stuffing, cloth, stitching, etc.) visualization of the punishment and filling it with anger and energy, to further link it to the target and prepare the doll to create proper manifestation.
There are plenty of other ways to go about it, just an idea.
If so, is it wrong to do so?
I keep my own morals out of the situation. I consult with my spirits and my cards to ensure I am in the right when I do a working. Whether something is right or wrong is entirely up to you. Don't let people deter you with "karma" and three fold law. Those things only apply to you if you believe in them. Just put plenty of thought into your work and highly suggest you use divination before you get elbows deep in the project.
