Every Wiccan talks about using the tall candles, but i only have tealights. Can those serve as a substitute? Do they have different purposes? Do they have any magickal purpose at all?

Tealights are awesome. Shorter burn times and cheaper, as they can be found at dollar trees and what not. They aren't beeswax, that's for sure, but they'll do the tip. You can't load them as you would a larger candle and annointing them isn't as easy. You can't work these candles as long as you might work others, but if you are in the broom closet, go for it.

Also white one can be used to substitute for any color in a pinch. I have used white myself for a different color worked the same. I like 4 inch chime candles myself but work all different sizes and types depending on the need

The colour isn't that much of a problem if you ask me, you can always paint them or wrap a coloured paper around them.

If you are worried because you need a certain burning time, you can always light up a new candle consecutively to the first one with its own flame before its over.

As for energy charging, just charge more candles. Like, you charge the same amount of energy but distribute it in more recipients.

You can use tea light candles. If the time is going to run over, you can also substitute with votive candles. (Around 4 times the height) You can also get votive candles cheap. My dollar store has them 4 for a dollar, discount stores like Walmart have them for around .50 cents each. They are much easier to anoint. I do love the tealight candles to, especially for meditation.

I always use tealight candles! They are much cheaper, and are more easy to find. I believe they serve as a substitute and work just as well as tall candles.

Yes tea light candles are amazing. You can get seven of them and use them as seven day candles. You can burn one each day. A candle is a candle too me
