Every time I read about casting spells, it's says that one of the most important things to do is to not have any doubt about it working or it fails. But isn't it human to question what happens around you? Or are there truly people who never question the spells they're casting? Or am I being foolish now?
Personal Will is a very powerful thing for us to possess as humans. The main aspect in any working is to *will* it. To put your intent and energy into the working, and expecting the desired result. If one were to already doubt the working, then the intent nor energy put forth wasn't fully there.
As Tethaia said, all the power you need is inside you. Focus your will and intent. Spells only work if you belive that they do. Rise above your advesery and conqure with love and faith in the power that the GodsGodesses have given you.
Belief is absolutely key. Forget any notions you had about how the world works. It's not real. It is policed to maintain the impression its real though, and there are those who would thwart your efforts.
Relax your mind and close your eyes. Blackness. You are in the void. Me, I am a flame, that is my nature. You may be ice, that depends on you. Focus only on you in the void. Now feel outwards. Use your palms if you still feel the need to steer you. Feel not with touch, but for the subtle ripples in the waters around you, a soft cushion around each spirit. If you're not alone reach palms to each others nearly touching. Dont distract yourself with contact. Feel their spirit, gently at distance. Feel the heat or cold. Learn of yourself and of them. Focus. Don't push too close. You may be too strong.
Now extend your mind. The distances you feel are nothing, meaningless. Feel the life around you. Every plant, every creature at once, they are all part of you.
Lesson one of the path. Practise and dont lose hope if you dont get it straight away. You will. Do this REGULARLY and focus on clarity and making it second nature.
If you lose focus hold out your palm. With the other hand an inch or two away from your open palm, fan the air gently, try circling or fanning. Feel the movement. Focus on that feeling. Start to feel the gentle push or pull. Move gradually further away and slow down. Soon you'll feel the force strongly with no breeze. Pick up from there
Well for one thing you wouldn't cast a spell because you didn't believe in it, you would think it's a stupid waste of time. Some people cast to be proven spells work, but the spell rarely works for them because they're not taking it seriously. To cast a spell you need to focus, to visualize your desired outcome perfectly, you need to be convicted in your casting. If you're stumbling over words, stopping to find your place, or making jokes, the spell won't work because you're not focusing, visualizing, or directing the energy needed. The spell becomes a broken chain, it's weak, and probably won't work. Plus, some people believe if you act foolish while casting it will come back to bite you [call it karma, deity or universe teaching you a lesson] personally I feel 'belief' is short hand for 'want'. If you 'want' this bad enough you will focus and believe it will work.
In casting spells you will find not all spells work, especially if your simply trying to make your own and are unsure how to do so or if you don't have an end result that you are trying to achieve, with experimentation there will always be a failure and through failure one can gain knowledge in how to better succeed. One doesn't necessarily need belief, there is also trial and error.
