If you've been checking in with the coven pinterest, you might have noticied that I started a new board not long ago called "DIY Magical Crafts". I've been slowly but surely collecting an assortment of do-it-yourself ideas for projects.
I thought it'd be kind of neat if, as a coven, we set out to handmake some crafts (either together, or on our own) and share that experience with each other. It'd also be a neat way of a) teaching people how to make simple crafts that can be incorporated into their own practices and b) getting us all invovled in working together to produce something. I'd even thought that, down the road, if the group did well enough and was interested in the crafts we made- we could even go on to make an etsy for our crafts, herbs, oils, etc.

Perhaps we should open this up to suggestions on crafts members would like to make?
One thing I was interested in doing was making a nature jar . I tend to use these when working with land spirits, as it serves as both a "home" for the spirit and a place to put thoughts and offerings towards.
All it involves, really, is getting a mason jar with a lid. Go out into the woods, the beach, wherever there is nature around you and find things that you would like to put in the jar to symbolize those particular elements or represent that area. Remember to be polite and ask/thank before taking certain things, like twigs from a living tree or etc.
Later, at home, you can decorate the jar up more if you're interested, using ribbons or cloth, or tiny candles within it. It just seems like a simple craft to start with, and an easy way of getting yourself acquainted to working with nature if you've never done it before.
Wands seem like a great idea, but I'd personally say they'd be a little hard to start with (but it does seem really fun!). I like the nature jar idea too. However, I was thinking something along the lines of a ink well quill pen.

So what if we open the idea up that at the start of the month, we make a thread where members can sign up to make specific crafts or tell us what they're going to look into making on their own. At the end of the month, we check back in and see the progress on things we've been making and show pictures/videos of our items?
