Familiar Spell?

Hi I'm new and currently looking for a spell to find a familiar (or create one), if you know any spells or can make a spell for me please let me know :)
I would prefer a dog/wolf, horse or parrot (budgie, ect)

There are a few spells on here that will help you find a familiar. Thing is a familiar is your choice but carts are a good choice.

Familiars in folklore are spirits, not physical animals.

Domestic helpers sure, but familiars are non-physical beings.

So I would have to travel to the Astral Plane to see it?

You can meditate or travel to the astral plane to 'see' them, yes.

One doesn't "choose" a familiar, but rather it chooses you. You can visit the astral plane and ask that it show itself to you, stating your purpose for wanting the aid of the familiar. It can show itself to you in the form of an animal. But, as already stated above, they are not physical animals. Raven Grimassi's "Witch's Familiar" is a wonderful book dedicated to the subject.

As a shaman, I find familiars kinda pop up when you least expect them. And they can be the least likely of animals. In my experience, yes, they can be physical animals. One of my Familiars is my cockatiel Mindwipe. You'll know when a familiar shows up - they tend to help on the astral and/or will teach you lessons in a physical manner but with a spiritual edge. That last part really is confusing, but it will make sense if you experience it :)

Mindwipe taught me to appreciate cockatiels over the years. She also helped me use her eggs as a focus point in my rituals. I still use her eggs in spells.
