Greetings!
As an individual with Insomnia and much trouble sleeping at night, i was wondering if any of you who have had insomnia as well found some cures or just things that help you get to sleep and stay asleep? I've heard chamomile tea or something like that is good, i've also tried sleep meditation too but it hasn't been working as much recently. Any suggestion, advice, comments, are welcome, thank you!
I, too, suffer from Insomnia. It's a horror to deal with! With that said, I've found that valerian helps me. So does celestial seasoning brand's sleepy time tea formula.
Also, I've found Gravol's ginger root anti-nauseants make me drowsy.
I go through jags of insomnia too, and valerian can indeed be helpful. I would only caution against long-term, habitual use of it as it can be somewhat addictive and leave you with a bit of a drowsy hangover the next day. I only had this effect after weeks to over a month of regular nightly use, however. There are a number of proprietary blend sleep enhancing formulations out there that combine valerian and chamomile together with things such as melatonin, hops, skullcap, passionflower, and other sleep enhancers that you might find helpful.
Listening to sleep induction patterns of binaural beats and isochronic tones separately or with nature sounds might also be of value; many are available affordably as digital downloads. Wishing you pleasant dreams!
I drink milk about a half hour before bed. Showering at night helps, too. I also meditate before bed, and there are a lot of various recordings online that I listen to to sleep.
If you're not already on medication, you could try to get some.
As far as herbal (and therefore more magicky) remedies, yes, chamomile helps a lot. It tastes pretty good, too.
It honestly depends on the cause of your insomnia. If it is a chronic issue I would suggest speaking with a physician or doing a sleep study. While herbs are a wonderful means of natural medicine, they can still cause issues like side effects and or interactions with other medicine.
Many things cause sleep issues. From what I have read one of the most common is not getting enough exercise. However, exercising too close to bedtime can actually make sleep more difficult.
A few herbs/supplements that are fairly safe for sleep would be chammomile (as others suggested), valerian root, melatonin (hormone), and lavender.
Aromatherapy helps some individuals. You can use scented candles, sachets, baths with scented epsom salts or oils, incense etc.
Limiting your use of electronics and being active in your bedroom is also said to help. Psychologist suggest turning off tv, computers and the like one hour before bedtime.
Meditation and relaxation are a big help for many. For further reading on relaxation I suggest this post

this technique was taught to me many years ago and helps tremendously when trying to sleep or prepare for entering other realms.

I can relate to your sleeping problems. But as said in above posts many things could be causing this lack of sleep. Most of the time high blood pressure is the root cause of restlessness and lack of sleep. If this continues for a long time be sure to visit a doctor before it becomes clinical insomnia. As for remedies/tips i use lavender essential oil on my pillow covers or the back of the hands. It helps relaxes me and induces sleep. You can also place a sachet of rosemary and thyme under your pillow.
