Hi. I am an un-initiated Wiccan and am not old enough to join a personal coven. Somebody told me that there is a way to self initiate and become a true Wiccan. Can anybody tell me how this is done.
All advice will be appreciated.
initiations are rituals to be welcomed into a coven, they can't be done by solitaries. you want to do a self dedication to the deities. there's many ritual you can find if you do a quick google search, but a basic one is cleanse the area, have a cleansing bath, cast a circle, welcome the God and Goddess, introduce yourself, explain why you feel it's the right path, cake and ale, ask for their blessing, thank them, open circle. no matter how simple or elaborate you choose to make it, it'll work if you're sincere. just observe for the next moon cycle, sometimes you'll feel the Lord and Lady's presence in the circle [especially if this is one of your first circles, you might not notice a major difference] but it could take a few days. i know it took me about 3 days to feel them, and it was randomly walking through the park i suddenly felt their presence, so don't think because you don't sense anything the first time it means they're not their, you might need practice, or perhaps they're merely observing.
also, there's no such thing as a 'true wiccan'. perhaps you could claim a 'true wiccan' follows British Traditional Wicca, but there's so many paths it's hard to difine a 'true wiccan'. so imo if you follow the basic views of Wicca, know your path, and practice on a somewhat regular basis, you're Wiccan.
have you done your year and a day? that's a key Wiccan ritual [i call it a ritual anyway] where you study, practice and reflect for 366 days. it's to prepare you for the dedication step. don't want people rushing in after reading the first chapter of Solitary Witch or something, only to realize by the middle of the book it really wasn't what you expected. [nothing wrong with changing your path, everythings always changing, but you shouldn't be so quick to make a major commitment] let me know if you need any book or article recommendations.
@ nykala your question is off topic, so you might get in trouble. start a new thread next time.
magick is a natural force, if you study, you can cast spells. there are many articles/forums you can read as well as books to help you with your problem. research what magick is, what it can and can't do, and how to cast spells.
