Which would be the best? Is there even a beginners deck? Or am I mistaken?

I've been interested in tarot readin : for sometime, but no clue where to start. Are there any online books about it that are free?

All I know is that the deck is more powerful if someone else's bus it for you. I have no personal experience in tarot, so I can't give to much info, sorry.

I think you should start with the Rider/Waite deck. It is the standard deck to start with and buy the book when you buy a deck. Don't rely on the little one that comes with the cards.

I'm assuming that you are saying it is more powerful if someone else should buy the deck for you, in which case I'm going to disagree.
When selecting a deck, I think it is best to do so in person, rather than online.
That way you can get a better feel for it, and choose the deck that stands out the most.
There are probably free PDFs that you can find on Google about tarot.

I would sugest going with your gut/instinct/heart. Pick the deck which calls to you. When you see it you will know. It will just feel right.

The whole superstition about someone needing to buy it for you is just that, a superstition. You can buy your own. You can find many deck at any number of places. Amazon, ebay, local metaphysics shops, book stores sometimes have them.

When shopping online they won't show you many pictures of the cards in my experience. That is fine, copy and paste the name of the deck into Google, go to images and look at the other cards.

I agree with everything here, but to build on the Rider Waite suggestion - I have found that specifically the Radiant Rider Waite deck is clearer and prettier, and can be found on Amazon last I checked :) good luck!

I had the mystic tarot for years. And I just couldn't learn anything from it.which discouraged me.

When I picked up the rider-waite,i've just been going crazy with it.

Between the standard rider-waite and the radiant,it's up to the person.I have both and I perfer the standard myself.but I don't think you could go to wrong with the rider-waite in general.

Get the rider waite deck to START with. Think of it as training. You gotta learn it first and get familiar, after you get a hang of it- you'll learn what you're looking for and the energies you seek. Your second deck is the one you should picky with, it's the one you'll know when you see it.
