I've a burning question regarding herbs used in hoodoo candle spells. I've watched people using herbs by encircling them around their candle usually for a 7day candle spell. However I fail to understand the need to do that and Ofc I know it's not necessary for me to do the same but I want to know it's symbolism.
Also do you change the herbs everyday or it remains there for a period of 7 days.
How should you dispose them of anyways?
I watched a tutorial and the person said that after 7 days you can either use those herbs that are now charged in your food so as to attract your desire like people carry their spell remnants around in a bag. Or they suggested to unbless those herbs and throw them away. As per tradition some people bless their spell items in the name of father, the son and the holy spirit and say their wish manifests soon. How will the unblessing process go by in the name of holy trinity?
It's my understanding that the more effort that you put into your workings, the more likely you are to get results. I decorate the crap out of my workings with herbs, flowers, stones, etc. all of them blessed with purposes that I put forward. It's important to know what each herb does spiritually. This is a pretty big part in hoodoo.
Native American herbal knowledge is where we get our traditions from. Studying up on various herbs in the hoodoo tradition will help you get stronger, better, and more powerful results.
Can you tell me whether you would change the decorations like herbs and flowers everyday if for a chance it's a 9 or 7 day candle? If yes, how would you dispose it off everyday and if not at the last day of your spell ?
Do you believe you need to have an altar while practicing hoodoo or you could simply have a table covered in cloth with your favorite color and a bible?
No, you don't have to change the decorations each day, well unless you want to. Also if you would to dispose of the herbs and flowers each day you can bury them at a base of a tree. Remember to ask the tree first and to thank it by leaving an offering on the ground where the tree is. To add to your last questionI have seen people having no altar to do their workings, so simple table with cloth and bible could do the trick
The first thing to remember is that every person works the roots differently, whether you decide to decorate it in herbs or simply leave the candle plain is completely up to you; simply because one person believes it adds power to it, doesn't necessarily mean that you have to follow path. That is the thing about Hoodoo, each of us work in our way and what works best for one may not for the other; rootwork can be a very "individual-based" path at times. Just do what works best for you.
Herbs are used as they are believes to have power in certain aspects, whether for health or prosperity. Using it to "charge" the candle is believed to add more "power" to the working for some. You can leave it for 7 days or change them regularly, depends on what your most comfortable with.
I would not recommend consuming the herbs, especially if you have little knowleadge about them; considering that some herbs can be hazardous to consume. To dispose of the working, that is up to you. You can bury it as stated above, leave it at a crossroads, or simply toss it in the trash.
