Could you use the same color of crystal that the candle is to replace the candle in a spell, or same properties. For example if I was casting a love spell that need a pink/red candle I would replace it with a Garnet or a Rose Quartz? I ask this because I am in the broom closet and I need a good subistute for candles. (I also have a great love for crystals. I have loved them ever since I was old enough to love something)

If you feel drawn to crystals and connect with them, then go ahead! I think it's a fine replacement.
I've also heard of people using candle apps on their phones to represent fire/candles in spells.
Since spells can be easily altered to your specific practice, changing the ingredients to anything you're comfortable with (but have the same properties) is perfectly fine!
I hope this helped.

I don't see why not as a candle is more of a tool to help you focus than it is a necessity. It helps a lot of people but subsitution is often practiced by people in your situation. I've heard of people using of a ll things digitac candles such as animated gifs or videos of burning candles when they needed candles for a spell yet coudln't use real ones. Crystals sound liek a perfect choice for substitution especiallty as many types crystals are utilized in spellwork.
Pretty much anything can be used to represent candles. I've even heard of stuffed animals being used as quarter 'candles', LOL. Even battery operated candles can be used. As for me, I use a virtual candle web site (http://gratefulness.org/light-a-candle/ ). If you use that web site, be warned that it takes 48 hours for the candle to 'burn' :)

Try it and see if it works. I think magick is all about your intent, tools merely enhance the experience. If I may suggest an alternative if you are interested, sometimes you can purchase battery operated candles. No need to light them, no smells linger when you are done, they can be painted different colours. Also if you do decide to collect crystals, I read somewhere in one of my many books (I will try to hunt it down) that you can use clear quartz as a substitute for any crystal. This is good if you are unable to get your hands on a specific crystal. Also, as a side note, the same book said rosemary can be substituted for any herb. To add a nice glow to your spells, you could try a rock salt light, they are on trend now and make your alter (or temporary alter) a little more special.
