The Elder Edda is not a deity. The Elder Edda, also known as the Poetic Edda by Snorri Sturlusonis a collection of poems and primary renditions of the Scandinavian, Anglo-Saxon and Icelandic peoples' mythology and legends.

However, within the Elder Edda and the Younger Edda ( Prose Edda ) there is a vast majority of the greatest apprehension that historians and individuals alike have today from that era which depict these peoples' mythology, culture, outlook, etc. Though since the author, Snorri Sturulson, was a historian and politican himself after the Christianization of majority of Northern Europe and Iceland; these 'annonymous' poems are subject to presentism. That does not mean though that these are still the most recommended literature pieces for one to gain knowledge and ground on Norse Mythology.

Reguarding Freyja and Loki, a simple browser search can give you endless articles, PDFs, online forums, blogs, etc to discern your own information. Book-wise and what is already at your disposal on SoM:

Freyja

  • The Poetic Edda by Snorri Sturulson
  • The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturulson
  • Goddess of the North by Lynda C. Welch
  • Gods and Myths of Northern Europe by H. R. Davidson
  • Fire Jewel: A Devotional for Freyja by Gefion Vanirdottir
  • Freyja, Lady, Vanadis: An Introduction to the Goddess by Patricia M Lafayllve
  • Goddess: Myth of the Female Divine by David Leeming and Jake Page

Loki

  • The Poetic Edda by Snorri Sturulson
  • The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson
  • Gods and Myths of Northern Europe by H. R. Davidson
  • Feeding the Flame: A Devotional to Loki and His Family by Galina Krasskova

Again, these are only some suggested literature- as I am more familiar with Freyja and workings that are writen about her than I am Loki, so others I am sure will be able to add and help you out there. Also, read with a grain of salt and with abundance, there are a variety of books and resources that you can cross reference and build up a base-line understanding before delving further.
