Is it possible for me to simply think of a chant/rhyme and have it work?

Uh no.

Spells don't necessarily require the use of words, many practitioners don't use any form of sound within magickal practice.

However, there is more to magickal practice than simply thinking of something and having it happen, there needs to be the intent, energy, etc to manifest will into the physical world and it will take time.
