In my experience, magic powers are nothing like in the movies, which make things very flashy and out of proportion. It`s more an internal feeling, rather than something readily visible.

movies and t.v. show's put magic and witches in the same category as vampires, mermaids, and werewolves. that's not how witches are at all. We don't defy the laws of nature or physics. It's mostly energy, intent, and for me a lot of herb work because I like tangible proof this stuff works best for me. If you just stay out of the tricks and illusion spells, and the fantasy spells, you'll see some real stuff.

I think the biggest misnomer of the term itself is referring to magic ability as 'powers' to behin with. Powers denotes singular tricks or abilities that one can do that others can not, like with super heroes and the like. Magic and magical practices are skills that aany individual has the ability to learn and grow into. It is something that can be developed over time and study. Other skills, like math or language studies or sociology or chemistry aren't labelled as 'powers', but they operate on the same principles as learned skills and fields of study. And one's measure of ability in the field is proportional to the effort and study they have put in, and is a result of the use of that gained understanding.

Of course, just like with other academic or skilled pursuits, different people have different aptitudes for certain things over others. And it is deeply tied with the individual's attitudes and predispositions. I do still feel that there are different possible fields (spheres maybe?) of possible practice though. And some tend to be a bit more gounded than others.

The main trouble is not necessarily what is being practiced though. It has more to do with how that practice is being followed. What a person practices should be a supplement to the mundane, not a replacement. So something like comitting time and energy to understand the symbolism and energy of fire in order to apply those lessons to life can be generally seen as valid. But trying to make magical balls of flame and throw them around is usually recognised as either fluff, or stagecraft by using materials and sleight of hand, that sort of thing. (stagecraft itself being a very challenging and fun field that very few master)

In the end each time one encounters magical practice or magical events or claims, they should always be individually considered with an open, if cautiously critical mind.

When you do a ritual or a job and you manifest results. Thats magickal powers.

All the rest is philosophical discussion. Which is fine. But in my opinion, results are what matter.

Thank you for your opinion my personal opinion is that it pretty much impossible for me to get the magic you see on tv and I focus on the real stuff mostly though I admit I try to be a bit hopeful and dabble in the more fantastical side of it cuz let's be housnt how cool would it be to have superpowers XD

When you get results, please be sure to post about it.

If it involves super powers, then record it and upload it to youtube.
