Are you meaning in the clairaudience way? I'd assume you are, and you'll probably find that a lot of people here do.
Quick definition if you don't know what clairaudience is: its literal definition is clear hearing and is referenced to hearing things in the spirit world.
I often talk with spirits. Spirit working is a big part of my magic. So it would be hard for me to tell you what I hear per say. Is there a reason you're asking what we hear though? Are you are trying to figure out the meaning of something you heard? Are you trying to figure out if what you heard really was a spirit?
well first rule out anything medical or logical [conversations traveling through the vents, or some mental illness]
that said, yes, i do. i've dealt with spirits since i was a kid, it runs in my family [my dad took a video this summer of myself, my sister, and my grandmother all talking about various experiences we've had. freaky similarities] what i hear depends on the spirit. Rori [a spirit who i've talked about a lot on SoM] has this echo ring to his voice. there was this one spirit who spoke in a whisper. my friend who recently past sounds like himself, but he only sticks to quick words ['dope' 'later' or his greeting 'wu-hullo-hullo' which is 'well hello hello' but he would say it so fast it came out 'wu-hullo-hullo' lol] i think because he recently past he doesn't know how to communicate, or isn't strong enough or something, because it's mostly i feel him in the room, or while i'm walking, and occasionally he's starting knocking things off the shelves at work. [he's also started whistling/humming and he'll sometimes tap out a tune on the desk, which was something he did in life because he was a musician]
majority of the time when i'm dealing with spirits it's a feeling more than a voice, and when i see spirits, it's more like a wispy shadow over a manifestation [or i see them out of the corner of my eye] of course everyones different, and i've been out of practice with my clairvoyance [need to work on that] and the veil can determines a spirits energy which could effect how well you hear them, but that's my personal experience at least.
I hear voices sometimes, pretty much every since I was very young, but I don't think it's anything special like spirits (although that would be way cooler). It mostly happens when I'm very relaxed or zoning out somehow. If I have a song stuck in my head, for example, it plays over and over in the back of my mind, and sometimes these voices just appear in it. They are really hard to catch sometimes, but they are definitely there, and it's freaky because they come from inside my head, but they aren't my voice.
I don't know 100% what they are, and I don't have any psychotic disorders or anything like that. I've done a lot of research and the closest thing I've come up with is auditory hallucinations.
I don't know if this is what you were looking for or if you were hoping for answers more along the lines of "paranormal" but I hope this was helpful somehow anyway. Best of luck to you
Wow! Great question! So I am curious as to this is what I experience on occasion? It seems overly strong when I am laying down to sleep or nap. Sometimes plain as day I will hear a sentence but more often it is just a word or two. I do not recognize the voice and what is being said is totally random. Sometimes it is a name other times it is like a clip of a conversation or the middle of a sentence.
I had never before thought that this was what was going on and I am now very intrigued if it is, To develop this and enjoy it more. Also, Is it voices from a different plain/time or are they trying to communicate directly with us? I have no medical conditions that would cause this. Thank you so much.
TimberFox, that may be Exploding Head Syndrome. Most often, it is experienced as a person hearing their name, or by the perception of loud bangs or booms which are not really there (hence the name). But it can also be random words or voices, as the brain is starting to approach a sleep state. It is induced by beginning dreaming -- or dream processes -- before actually sleeping, or shortly after waking up. It is related to hypnagogic experiences.
