I was taught right off the bat that all acts of love belong to the goddess. I was thinking the other day if it was possible that the goddess has shown you a sign that you are meant to be single?
She works in mysterious ways but could it also be that maybe you are meant to belong to her? Like in the old days when there were preistesses that served a goddess for life without ever living their temple. I was just curious thanks for reading :)
The maiden is the virgin form of the Goddess. I've always imagined that this crucial period is in our lives to teach us how to be whole on our own and learn to live for ourselves, learn to make ourselves happy on our own before we learn to live for someone else in the mother stage, where we learn to be selfless for our significant others and children. I think that if the Goddess wants anything from us it is to love and take care of ourselves before we take on the daunting task of doing it for others.
in theory i suppose, but the Goddess isn't a constant, she grows and changes as time goes by from year to year and from month to month. in her maiden phase i could see connecting with her and devoting your life to only her [perhaps even in her crone phase as this is one of wisdom and insight] but in her mother phase she is a sexual being. not to say she's all sex, but it does mean she has married the God and is pregnant.
this said, our lives don't perfectly mirror the Goddess [and like i said, maiden, mother, and crone can change over time. currently in the Wheel of the Year she is a Maiden, but the moon is in Mother, slowly becoming Crone] so while typically 'maiden' for a woman would be childhood to, say, 20-25, this isn't true for everyone. some are wiser beyond their years and begin identifying with crone over maiden, others become parents in their teens and excel at the nurturing roll. then you also have the woman who choose not to have kids of their own but are motherly aunts. you could also consider the woman who after their children leave home don't yet feel very 'crone' so they go and take classes, or start spending more time with friends, and in a way, go back to the maiden energy of 'look how fun and new everything is.'
if i were you, i would take this time in honour of the Goddess, reflect and grow your spiritual self. look inside and strengthen your inner self, but don't conclude because you're single right now you're destined to be that way. you might be focused on her for many years only to meet someone later in life, or perhaps even adopt a child and turn your focus from strengthening your inner self to raising your child. the universe [and in deed the Goddess] does not work in absolutes.
