Imaginary Friends

I know this sounds weird but how could one possibly find out if the imaginary friends we had as a kid were real or not. Do you think they could possibly be spirits? When I was 3/4 I went through a phase where I had one named Chloe. I remember very little but I was told I would cry when I couldn't find things and blame it on "Chloe" saying she stole them. Or cry cause she'd make fun of me. In my mind I remember her being Caucasian and an older kid possibly 10-12. I don't remember seeing her with my eyes but maybe she was a figment of my imagination.

It isn't out of the realm of possibility but your memories seem to relate more to the typical imaginary friend. At the age where most have imaginary friends they tend to truly believe they are real blaming them for losing things and of course blaming them for things they did :). I would think a spirit even a benign one would stand out in your memory as more unusual than a typical imaginary friend because of their personality, actions, etc...

You could research the history of the house where you grew up. If there was any death of a person fitting the description, there you have your answer. If not, then probably was just your imagination.

The possibility exists, at least according to some people's beliefs. However, there are a lot of behaviors common among children. It does not rule out the possibility that your 'imaginary friend' wasn't so imaginary, but that's only something you can decide from your own memories.

My sister and I played with her imaginary friend, which I could also see. She (the 'imaginary' friend) told us her name. When we were adults, we learned her name is that of a Native American tribe wiped out in that area, around the turn of the 20th Century.
