Hi there. I have a question and In no way am i planning on doing such a thing and i would appriciate it if peoples negative views weren't given. But i wass thinking about how some witches use ouija boards and if spirits are capeable of doing things for them. An example being like getting repairing a friendship between someone and the witch or bringing back the witches ex. It just came to mind after having a conversation with another practitioner and she told me about how she had help from the spirit world with her spells. And i know she regularily uses a ouija board. Any inforation on this would be appriciated thank you all.
The thing with spirit boards, is that they are entirely unpredictable. When using one, you aren't just inviting the spirits who wish to help, you are inviting the good, bad, and ugly to communicate, and this can lead to spirit attachments. However, with practice, and proper safety measures to block the negative energies, it is entirely possible.
Many people communicate with spirits to help them in their craft, and there are many ways to communicate with them aside from using a spirit board.
With that said, anything you do with the spirits, you have the chance of unintentionally inviting something bad in, and it has consequences, so just use common sense, and after using a spirit board, maybe do some banishing cleansing, and shielding to protect yourself from anything negative that may have slipped through the door you opened.
Well there are various people who work with spirits for different reasosns though I do not know how much affect the can have on the phsyical plane personally. I'm sure you could channel their energy to help your spells, if they were willing, but on their own I doubt the average spirit could help much in terms of taking action themselves to alter relationships plus I'm a firm believer in free will being stronger than any supernatural force so I don't think if a relationship is meant to end magick and/or spirits can change that.
Historically the Ouija board was created during war times as a gimick to make money and is now owned by Hasbro if I recall correctly resulting in it being sold in toy stores across the country. I'm not saying this to imply people do not use these to successfully communicate with spirits but that there's nothing overly special about these boards. They are simply tools and are not needed for contacting spirits though it may make it easier as it opens you up to the possibility. Plenty of people buy these boards as jokes or as toys with nothing happening so I would not associate fear with an object sold beside Monopoly on a shelf at Toys R Us. Be respectful, be cautious, but above all remember its how you use a tool that makes it potentially dangerous. I say this because a lot of people even those who don't practice magick have a fear of these boards as if simply being near one will call forth some evil being.
In my opinion, spirit boards are used more for communication, such as establishing contact with an entity, than they are for enabling the results of a working. My mind puts the purposes in different categories.
With all precautions taken, a person may use a spirit board to initiate contact, or hold a conversation, with an entity associated with a desired effect. The person may even ask the willingness of the entity to assist in a desired result. But the use of a spirit board -- again, just my opinion -- is a separate task, and requires dedicated attention, which would detract from attempting its use in a separate working.
That said, it does not mean a person may not use it as part of a more elaborate over-all goal.
On ouija and other sporit boards... In all honesty they are just a bit of cardboard with pretty drawings on them. But, when put to use they become a tool similar to other oracles like tarot, tea leaves, and pendulums, and any other medium's tool of channelling.
The board itself doesn't have any intrinsic power. It isn't the board that makes the communication. It is the effort of the medium/operator and the energy of the spirit/being choosing to respond. In the end the board is to the medium the way a keyboard is to a computer. It is a method of input.
I find the best comparison is with practices of automatic writing. The person holding the pen, an ordinary pen, opens themselves to allowing an external force to take a certain measure of control so it can then express itself.
As for the capability of sporits to work with or for a practitioner... There are things they can and also can't do. Some things can vary depending on an entities own knowledge and predisposition but they often can act as sources of wisdom and guidance, assistants in guiding intuition, and go-betweens or bridges to help an individual in connecting to different energies-especially in practices like healing. Likewise in magic they can offer nudges and intuitions on ways to lay out a working to improve it. Or under some cultures and practices they can be 'set loose' to enact or carry out the magic. But for the mist part I personally find their main role as being a sharing of knowledge and experience.
Of course that is likely bias of experience... I specifically focus myself on healing and personal growth. When it comes to magic and spirits, especially in their interactions, you het what you look for.
