I, for one believe that we are all connected to the universal knowledge some call "The Akashic Records" through the collective consciousness. There is no way to access it all, or even a great portion of it at once. Our brains would probably explode if we were able to have even a fraction of that knowledge. I don't think we could physically handle it. If you're looking for a piece of information that could be found through other people, stating what you are looking to learn might be a good place to start.
There are several different ideas and methods for not only how to access your Akashics, but even in interpreting what is meant by it/what they are.
Some take the description literally and treat connecting with one's akashic records like going to some form of a spiritual library. Personally I see this as some good imagery to use in a guided meditation, but otherwise I find my own opinion to be more symbolic.
To me, connecting with one's Akash is akin to connecting with your higher-Self. That enduring consciousness that continues on some level of higher awareness that retains the memories choices and lessons we have already experienced from lifetime to lifetime. I found that I connected best with my own history through in effect connecting more deeply with myself.
Thevprocess itself doesn't really have any single exercise you can just do and suddenly the door is open. To me it is more of a result of a collection of other efforts of personal growth. Connecting to Self through itrospection, meditation and engaging attention towards your energies and your spiritual be-ing, exploring your current challenhes and lessons to recognize and become aware of the potential influences of your Karma, working towards learning from and releasing said karma, and so in.
Connecting to my Akash wasn't a sudden achievement for me. I got in touch with bits and pieces at a time as I grew and learned. The information more-or-less came to me as it became relevent to my efforts. So it has been a gradual (and still ongoing) process.
There are those who believe themselves to have stumbled upon the Akashic Records on the astral plane though some seem to consider them taboo in a way. Considering it is a mental plane this would go hand in hand with learning more about yourself and looking inward so in theory this is possible. Still, the astral plane is a different experience for everyone so there is no map to follow. I agree that if the records exist and we could access them we would likely suffer a mental overload from the information as one life experience is enough to handle without being bombarded by every past, present, and possibly future experience. Knowledge is a powerful force but some things are better left unknown.
The Akashic record is the concept that there is a lasting memory or record of your choices and actions that have occurred throughout the entire history of your existance as a conscious being. The idea is that one can potentially gain a measure of conscious access to their personal history and use it to reflect on and learn from their past lives.
There were also some Guru's who were thought to read the Akash of a student to discover pending karmic cycles or debts so they can then help the individual balance it out or release it more quickly. In this, by my understanding one's Akashic record is in effect imprinted within an individual's energy.
More new-age interpretations include the idea that this record is kept in a sacred place such as a temple or 'hall' that exists on some ephemeral or spiritual plane. Somewhere that is seen or visited-especially when between lives.
Interesting. I've memory of some of my past lives, but I most acutely remember my last life, and I only remember the events leading to my death. Mayhap I could use this to reach the Arkashic Records?
