Beginner's Druidry
By:
Hello. I am not a Druid myself, but I do incorporate many different practices into my religion, because I feel that there is some truth to be taken from almost every path. Because of this, I study many different religions. I realized recently that I know almost nothing about Druidry, and I would love to read more about it, but I have not been able to find much information on it.
Does anyone have some good website/book recommendations on Druidry for beginners?
Thanks.

Hopefully this response isn't too late.

There's the Druidry Handbook by John Michael Greer, he was the leader of a certain large druid order (I can't remember their name right now).

You could also try joining a druid order, many of them you have to pay for though, I am currently part of the New Order of Druids (NOD). They have a free membership which allows you to post on forums, talk to members, and it also offers three free courses from the grove of dana college. Bard course, ovate course, and druid course. Buying an upgraded membership allows you to join more courses that go more in depth and also has a few other benefits. It's good if you are in a tight spot or currently cannot pay to be in an order.

Hey there! I’ve also been wanting to read more on Druidry, as it’s one of the many paths that interests me. Just found this book online. Looks very promising.

Thanks much and blessed be :)

I just looked up the NOD courses out of curiosity since that post is a year old and they are pretty impressive for free courses! The New Order of Druids just updated the curriculum to include the most historically accurate information which shows solid attention to detail and accuracy. The organization even gives you a certificate of completion at the end (via email). If you or anyone else is still interested in delving further into Druidry, the free membership still gives the individual access to their library resources. Here is a rundown of what the free membership provides (as well as info on the Bard/Ovate/Druidry courses):

I appreciate this tip, Fakewind, and I hope others look into it. I plan on taking it after this semester. I am a sucker for some of these complimentary online courses. There are some that are truly worth the time it takes to complete them. At the price of free, it is hard to pass up :)

Hello,

There is a terrific documentary where they interview Ben McGrady who reflects on the history of the Druids, sacred places, and some history relating to Christianity I doubt many know. I highly suggest this for getting some understandings on the Old Gaelic Order and Druid history.

The Last Druid - Documentary on Ben McGrady of The old Gaelic Order

Enjoy!
