Names?

I'm trying to prepare things for a last ditch casting but my daughter asked me a question and I don't have an answer.
When casting. The person is adopted. Do you use the name they use or the name they were given at birth?
Which would be more powerful?

Both are equally effective.

During rituals and spells i mostly use the magickal name of the person

Any taglockwith personal meaning is good enough. Given name or the name they use, both are effective.

Personalize it to the person as best as you can. If you can visualize them [or have a photo] this can direct the energy more than just knowing the persons first name and nothing else. When I had to bind someone who was harassing me I used their full name and also their screen name. If you know any nicknames this can further personalize the spell, but the key is you visualizing the person [hense a photo] you need to direct the energy so be specific.

As the others have said, it really follows your intent, so either name will work. One should hold more validity over the other so long as the intent is there for it to be related to the individual you are casting it for.
