Summoning Spells

My friend was planning to do one of those summoning an animal companion spells and I told him I would check because I didnt want him to be disappointed. Do they work? And if only some work can you tell me which ones? Thanks :)

Whether a summoning works or not very much depends on what you are attempting to summon and how much knowledge you have on summoning.

Summoning cannot summon physical things, so if you friend is trying to summon a physical animal companion, then no, it won't work. If it was a spell to summon a spiritual being in the form of an animal, then that is more likely.

Beyond that the success with summoning (and all spells) also depends on knowledge, if your friend doesn't know what they are doing in terms of ritual, then it is likely not going to succeed, they also depend very much on the spell, the intention may be correct and the desired summons may be realistic, but if the spell is fluffy or contains incorrect information then the spell may also fail.

No one can really tell you which spells work as there are thousands of summoning spells and rituals, generally speaking once you know enough about how magick works, you can identify the fake spells from the real and can learn to make your own successful spells.

and what are the effects of the spells? what will happen and how do you know if it worked?
