Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I am very happy to be a new member of this community ! During the last 2 years, I have been experimenting changes in my life, its as though I have awakened from a long sleep. During this time the experiences made me question why me? After investigating and talking to family members, I found out that I actually come from a line of Wiccans. I have Scottish, Irish and English ancestors and the last Wiccan to be active in my family was by the surname Gilmore. I am very new to this and also very eager to start learning but I do feel a bit lost as to how and where I start my learning. I have been reading books and trying to get as much information posible. If someone could be so kind to help me on my journey or to guide me on which books to read, It would be much appreciated. Thank you all!!
Hi, and congratulations, you habe taken the first step into a larger world.
For starters I recommend you meditate or learn to, if you don‘t know hiw to do so properly. Then, I want you to learn to move the energy within your body, as you will not dommich spellcasting without movin and dispersing your own energy. This energy is what keeps you alive, it is your soul ( maybe) and it is the currency with wich you „ pay“ for the magic you cause in this world. Start by poicturing a fire in your heart. Let this picture sink in to the point, that you feel the warmth of this fire in your chest. Then, have that enery move throughout your body and, in the end, try to form a ball out of it in your hand, which you can hold, play around with and even throw.( don‘t expect it to knock anything over, though)
If you have done that successfully: congratulations! You are now a caster. Now you just need to find your path and get going. A great way to do that is to read books and watch a lot of youtube videos from people like Harmony Nice or Dragon Feather 369(?) But most importantly: ask yourself: „ what kind of magic would be fun to learn?“ because if you genuinely like the idea, chances are, you are naturally in tune with this. Just make sure it is actually possible. Don‘t try to turn yourself into a Polemon. That‘s just cringy .

Wait. You came from a line of Wiccans? How does that work? Wicca was invented by Gardner in the 1940s and only made public in the Year 1951. You were born in 1978. So that leaves 27 short years between Wicca's public debut and your birth. Did your family convert en-masse to Wicca during that time period? Or did the females on your family give birth very young? Or was someone in your family a friend of Gardner?
I am sorry if I am coming off as probing. It is just that I am slightly mind-blown of you coming from a Wiccan Lineage especially since you were born at 1978! Thus, my curiosity!
Perhaps Galician Meigas would be a more accurate term rather than Wicca to describe Spanish witchcraft from the 14th and 15th centuries. It was Celtic based and subject to destruction by Torquemada the famous inquisitor. Doing a search of the Catholic Churches records for the Spanish Inquisition between 1450 to 1600 will reveal family names that were excommunicated from the church. There will be no burial records as those unfortunate souls were cast into potters fields or ditches for burial but you can find some of their names “crossed out” from the records of live birth and baptisms after they were subjected to trial.
