Trapped spirit

Hello all,

I've been on and off this site for years but I always end up back. Today I'd like to share an experience and see what others may have to say. My boyfriend has a little ghostly friend. He opens the locked basement door, bangs on the walls, and just silly things that can spoke some. He used a oujia bored to communicate with it, and well... they got into a couple of arguments. All he wants to do is help it move on.

On a funnier note, one night he threw an ice chip down the basement stairs and the fire alarms went off.

I’ve been going through the same thing. It feels like I have a spirit house. They come and go as they please. I have this specific trapped spirit from The Revolutionary War. I’m not sure how long he’s been here and I’ve done my best to help him move on, but nothing I do is good enough. I’m not sure why he won’t leave. It seems to me that he’s trying to tell me something and I’m doing my best to try to understand what he’s saying. He’s from a different time, so I’m kind of familiar with the Revolutionary War. I did a project on it. I’m just not sure how to help this trapped spirit who doesn’t want to move on. What do you think I should do at the time being?

First of all, that's a hilarious and terrifying story. A ghostly prankster in the basement, arguing through a ouija board, and setting off fire alarms with an ice chip? That's like a comedy horror movie waiting to happen.

As for your boyfriend's ghostly friend, it seems like it has a bit of a mischievous personality. It's possible it's a residual haunting or the spirit of a past resident who enjoys playing pranks.
If your boyfriend wants to help the spirit move on, there are a few things he can do. First, he can try communicating with it again, this time with a more positive attitude. Instead of arguing, he can try asking it why it's still here and helping it realize it's time to move on.

He can also try using sage or smudging to cleanse the basement and create a peaceful vibe. He can also use light and sound frequencies to create a more positive atmosphere.
If none of these things work, he may need to seek professional help. There are spiritual practitioners and paranormal investigators who specialize in helping spirits cross over.
