I'm confused by Paganism and witchcraft. If I do witchcraft does this mean I'm Pagan? Some sites say yes others say no. I'm confused by it all. Is Paganism religion? Also If I'm Pagan do I need to be vegan?
As far as I know, it's not required to be a Pagan to use magic in any way. Wiccans use magic, and there's even "magic" in Christianity through their famous healing touches. Anyone has the ability to use magic, regardless of religion. However it's the religions themselves that generally teach to not believe in it.
Technically, pagan refers to any religion that is not the "Big Three" Abrahamic faiths; i.e., Christianity, Judaism and Muslim. However, this definition would also include Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism and others. The more commonly accepted meaning is that of Earth based, polytheistic religions. This would include things like Wicca, Druidism and by some definitions Native American teachings.
Magic exists in every culture and is not bound by religion. It may not be called witchcraft. It may be called magic, alchemy, healing or other names. Practitioners of their magic may not use the term witch. They may call themselves magicians, shamans, healers and the like. That being said, if you use the term "witchcraft" for what you do or describe yourself as a "witch" you more than likely are pagan.
Being vegan or vegetarian has nothing to do with being pagan.
There are several different versions of the term "Pagan", it is an umbrella term that covers a large range of different faiths and religions. Some people believe only specific religions to fall under the "Pagan" umbrella, while others consider all religions outside of the Abrahamic religions to be Pagan. It's worth looking up which form of Pagan you feel works best.
Witchcraft doesn't require religion for it to be practiced, it is secular and so a practitioner doesn't have to call themselves Pagan. There are some Christian witches that also would not call themselves Pagan, but other practitioners may follow a Pagan religion and so call themselves Pagan.
In terms of Paganism and Veganism, no you don't have to be Vegan to be Pagan, as Paganism covers a huge range of religions with their own beliefs and guides. Some Pagan religions may include veganism, but not all, it entirely depends on your own path.
