An appretiation

How do I send an appreciation to a relative who passed without summoning or conjuring them?

You could go to their grave to leave flowers, or if you aren't able to do that a simple prayer would do.

If you're looking to do something more symbolic of your relationship with them you could do something the two of you enjoyed doing while they were living. What I mean is if they liked getting ice cream and going fora walk you could do this by yourself and think of them while you do it as if they were there.

If you want to do something more witchy in nature you could burn a candle or light some incense. You don't need to call upon a spirit in order to do something in their honor.

You could also set up an ancestor altar for them. You could do as suggested and use it as a place to feel connected to them and their energies and also as a way to remember who they were, and the joy they brought to you.
