New To Magick

Hi,
I'm still struggling to get my spells to work even though I know the basics (centering, grounding, etc.). I was wondering if anyone could tell me a basic spell that almost always works so I can try it.

A simple spell I use a lot in my practice is a spell which expresses gratitude to my particular deities.

If you do not work with any deities this gratitude prayer spell can still be done to express gratitude in general.

Essentially whenever I cast a spell to manifest something I show my gratitude with a simple candle spell.

I light a plain white candle deep in prayer and concentrate on my feelings of gratefulness while it burns.

a chant or candle spell is rather simple, you simply charge/focus then say the chant or light the candle to release the energy on it's desired path.

i am curious how long you wait for the spell to take effect? i typically give a spell one moon cycle, and i spend that time being mindful of my surroundings and recording any changes i may see/feel. you might also be focusing on a specific outcome to a spell and ignoring the actual outcome [say casting a money spell hoping for a raise, while ignoring the extra shifts being offered]
