I have come to realise a very sobering and sad truth.
As time goes on I find the world is becoming less and less magical. There are too few of us left who accept and know of our true selves and purpose and that number is dissipating fast.
I keep wondering why my path is crossing less and less with fellow magical beings. ( I’m not talking about Hollywood fan fiction) And I think I’ve got the answer. Every day more and more damage is being done to the earth and less and less people truly believe or accept in the real mystical beings that can help it. It’s as if the mortal world is taking over and the magical one is fading out.
Tbh, If this is the way it is to be then I guise I can accept that. I’ll just have to hope that one day magick and all magical beings will find their place in the world again. And the world will heal.
Sorry for the rant, just felt a little sad and uncertain about the future.
While I completely understand and respect your opinion, I don't believe this to be true. Each and everyday on every platform I am on, I am seeing more and more people learning the truths about this world. That magic exists and that it isn't ''evil'' like we are conditioned to believe. On YouTube alone, there are a ton of witchy channels and now there's Amino, Tik-Tok has even become a huge platform for witches. It just depends on where you are and what you're being open to.
Yes, the earth needs to be taken better care of, yes it does need help. All of that is true!
But to say that people aren't accepting or believing the ''real'' mystical beings that can help this world aren't true.
I get what your saying but I believe more and more people are finding nature religion. And even people who do not believe still believe that we should be more respectful to the world. More and more "green" laws are being more common place.
I understand your fear as it is really bad right now, but I believe it's going to be better, either in our lifetime or the next, it has to get better.
well, I see a few things in your rant. [and yes, sometimes we need to vent, even perceived negative emotions can heal us there is no sunrise without nightfall] firstly, your view of people stepping away form magick. there's actually a rise in new age spirituality right now, but so too is there a rise in cynicism and hatred. people are too quick to over medicate a cold when there are home remedies that would work wonders [i'm not saying don't vaccinate or avoid modern medicine, I'm saying sometimes there's a simple solution that has worked for centuries] as for your opinion people don't rely on various nature spirits [suck as faeries for example] I think it's a mix of things. How we treat the planet and disrespect spirits in general [not leaving a sugar cube out for faeries because it's "superstitious" for instance] has resulted in many turning their back on us. They're not gone, just cautious and need to be proven you actually wish to work with them.
That said, we can take responsibility ourselves for fixing things. Yes, leaving offerings and planting faerie gardens are helpful. We can adopt a highway or beach and keep it clean, bring a trash bag on nature walks, volunteer to plant trees [or if you're a humanitarian, you can volunteer at soup kitchens, can drives, walks for a cure, donate to charity, blood drives] and above all, you can do these things in the name of your deity or spiritual entity. people are getting more self-absorbed, but so too is the number of people standing up and shouting "enough." We can each do something [big or small] to help. If you see something you don't agree with, do something about it. You can do so in the name of your spirituality, or simply because you agree with the cause [my coven joined several online and offline covens last month in a casting to bring rain to Australia, many pagans cast a binding on the Trump administration to prevent them from doing harm, and even Gerald Gardner was part of a casting to insure no enemy forces would step foot on Engish soil during WW2]
Overall, I love your sentiment, and it's great you're fed up with the status quo, but step back and ask yourself "what am I going to do about it?" you could form a coven or group for your cause, or you could go in alone. Regardless of your actions, just act in alignment with your morals.
