I've heard of these and plan to use what information I've gathered to attempt on of these myself today. But I figured I should ask if anyone here has any tips or experiences they might like to share in using these. Things like "Where should I keep the jar?", "Any blends that seemed to work best for you?" Kind of things. Really all knowledge is good knowledge in this case.

Depending on the jar, it can be buried or kept in a special place where it won't be disturbed. For some curses, the jar can be buried on the target' property and left to allow the magic to run its course. If it's a spell that you plan on working for some time, you can keep the jar on your altar or in your spell-space and shake it or chant over it to recharge it. Jar spells are very versatile so really 'the best blend' is up to you, as far as what you want to do with it and what works best for your situation.
The experience I personally have with spell jars are more long term workings. I do not tend to bury my jars, not even hex jars.
I've currently been working with small shaker jars and a couple smaller prayer jars meant to be activated by holding.
There are also such jars as honey and vinegar jars. I make my sweeten and curse jars differently, so I've no experience with either of these.
The only other jar type spell I've written was a witch's bottle. That was quite an experience. I didn't bury it, but left it in my home, as I had said, I tend not to smash or bury my jars.
As for storage you could keep them on an altar. I had my prayer jars on my night table altar space, the cat knocked it down, consider this if you keep cats.
I like to store my shaker jars in a small cardboard jewelry box I received after ordering some jewelry. The jars are small enough to fit in it, and since they are longer term workings I don't feel bad about storing them out of sight if I need the altar space.
In what was was your witches bottle "an experience"? What exactly is a prayer bottle? Is it like a spell bottle where you add items to represent your intentions and charge it?
I do not want to go into too much detail with regards to my experience with the witch's bottle. It was a personal experience.
As far as prayer jars I have an article written called Folk Jar magic, which gives a short summary of both prayer and shaker jars and their use within my personal practice. It is within the miscellaneous forum section.
That article has the differences and similarities of both of the jar types that I speak of.
Of course there are other types of Jar spells as well. Those are the main two I have had experience with.
