(Sorry if this is in the wrong category, I don´t use the forums that much! :S) Soooo, I´m gonna be doing some protection spells and other stuff for back to school, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or recommendations! I am going to do some stuff for banishing negative energy, plus sending harmful things back at the sender and stuff, but anyone have any ideas for like success, orrrrrr idk memory? Anything helps, what else should I do? Thanks! -Kar

a suggestion from a students perspective is maybe focusing spells or spells for sucess when it comes to doing good in school. you could also try making a vision board for your goals regarding school this year. : )

Do remember not to stretch your words or type in text speak and both are against site rules. It's "I don't know", not "idk". Both of those things are very confusing to our members for which English is not their first language.

I like the suggestion maderegarding a vision board. I think that is an excellent means in which you can really take time to meditate and focus on what areas you want to improve and protect throughout the coming school year. I would create short goals and long goals and I would separate it into the parts of your school year, so if you have a break over winter, before Spring semester starts, make your short goals for the beginning of the school year and longer goals for the end of the school year. This way you will not feel overwhelmed!

I often will utilize a "dream jar". There are many places that sell them but honestly you can use any container you have. I prefer to use clay or ceramic as I connect a lot with the earth in my spells and rituals and I feel a better connection to this material then say plastic, but there is nothing wrong with using what you already have. I place on a piece of paper rolled up, my goals or dream and place it in the jar and perform my own internal blessing.

I also think you have the right mind-set to do some protection spells. It is difficult, especially in a school setting, to avoid negative energy. It can consume you and fighting it off is exhausting. If you are living on campus, maybe look into a protection amulet or charm you can carry with you.

Be safe and I hope you have a wonderful school year.

I don't know if you are the sort to have charms or decorations with you, but one option would be to get a couple animal beanie babies (They still sell those... I think?) Or similar small animal plushies you could clip to your backpack.

Open a couple stitches on each one, put in a crystal and/or some fragrant herbs, and stitch then back up.

For example, an owl to connect with Athena, wisdom, education, and strategy. Put in some ginseng, sage, or peppermint for focus and alertness. Slip in a quartz chip or bit of fluorite for clear thought and creativity.

Another would be raven for Odin, wisdom, and knowledge. Plop in some sodalite or tiger's eye, and a bit of cinnamon or even coffee beans for clearing the mind.

A fox could also be a good one, I'm not aware of any gods of knowledge/intelligence it is associated with, but in general foxes are associated with cleverness and wit (or trickery). Stuff it with an orange calcite, agate, or malachite and a sprig of cedar or lemongrass.

On an odd side note is it just me, or is a surprisingly large proportion of God's associated with knowledge and wisdom also associated with war and strategy/tactics?

Something I like is changing your space for example binders, pencils, Notebooks So they can become a peaceful place when you return to school it can help you want to be there you can also keep sigils near to inspire and motivate you There are a ton of ways to make sigils but I like using the free flowing method you can but then in you notebook, Carve them Into a wood pencil, or in front of a text book and more something else you could do is use tarot cards to spark creativity and Ideas but most importantly is to be creative and be you
Best Of luck

Rosemary is yet another herb for study. Rosemary in a satchet like spirit suggests would be great.

For protection along with return to sender properties I suggest a small mirror carried in a pocket, couple this with a protective herb or stone. This can be helpful for protection.

Confidence and study stones such as tiger's eye or orange calcite may help with focus.

Much luck to you.

I am going back to school this fall as well. Lets just hope we don’t end up going to back to classes from our kitchen tables like last year. I like to do yoga and meditate and this seems to help me focus and get ready for the day. I think I found the best thing to do is cut down on the distractions. This really made things harder for me than they should have been. I try and make time to study but this can be tough sometimes. I never considered trying magic. I am wondering if making a space for peace and solitude would help.

Not gonna tell you the spell right here since it's so long:

I wrote a spell called Memory Charm or something like that (check my history)

Useful if you're doing online classes and you can carry the charm in your bag too.

It helped me out quite a bit with my french test.
