Id like to start a thread where people can ask questions about Reiki. Ive searched the forums and have seen lots of unanswered questions. Please, if you have any questions post them here and I will help to answer them.
Reiki is something I've had an interest in for a few years but haven't experienced myself, and there are some things about it that I don't quite get and haven't found answers to as of yet. So, here we go!
Supposedly, using Reiki can cause the hands to become warm or hot and heat to radiate from the hands. Since this isn't energy that should be generating any sort of heat, what might be going on here? Could it be that the focus on the flow of Reiki is simply increasing circulation to the hands and causing them to warm up, and the receiver is simply feeling increased body heat from the sender? That wouldn't explain anything someone might feel from distant Reiki, but it's the only logical thing that makes sense to me. I just don't see how this kind of energy is supposed to generate heat on its own, and I know that focusing on a part of the body can increase circulation.
Another thing I've wondered about is Reiki supposedly being able to repair machines and recharge batteries. Is that actually a thing or are people just telling crazy stories? If it is a thing, how is that even supposed to work? I've also heard the reverse about batteries and that watch batteries drain faster.
People also claim that they can charge digital pictures, videos, and even web pages with Reiki. When someone watches the video, looks at the picture, or even visits the web page, they receive Reiki. Charging of a physical object I can understand, but something digital? Unless this is simply a form of intention like a spell, I don't understand how this is done. And what if you can't see the video or picture? What then?
Lastly, if a blind person is attuned to the second level, how exactly are they supposed to use the symbols? Do they just concentrate on the names of them? Are there tactile ways of conveying them? Would they be shown how to draw them and just practice?
Your first question dealt with hands becoming warm or hot and that heat radiating from the hands during treatment.
From my experience and depending if it’s a hands on or off session, my hands do sometimes warm up during a Reiki treatment. Others times they don’t. Hot or warm hands are not an indication that your practitioners Reiki is stronger than another’s, or that Reiki is working better for one person, or on one particular day, than another. It is simply one of many indications that the energy is flowing. I feel the flow of energy in multiple different ways. The sensations can be visual, auditory, sentient, cognitive, or a combination of any of these. So hot or warm hands are not necessarily the only indicator of flowing Reiki energy.
Your second question deals with the ability to recharge batteries or repair machinery.
I’ve never heard of this phenomenon, nor would I ever try something like that. Reiki energy is intended to work on the human body to balance chakras and to help with physical or emotional pain.
Your third question deals with someone with blindness and attuning them to the second level which deals with symbols and more advanced Reiki.
The symbols themselves are not the key to the Reiki energy. They are a vessel to help with concentration on a given intention. The symbols can be explained to the person and you could help them draw the symbol until they are able to master it on their own. One thing that’s forgotten is the the symbols do not need to be in complete perfect form. It is the intention that matters most.

Reiki is a specific form of energy manipulation. Those whom practice the craft are also manipulating energy is various ways and through various practices. Many practitioners of the craft also work with Reiki.There are also those whom are referred to as techno mages, energy workers that incorporate technology into their practices.Technology such as computers contain quartz crystals and run off of electricity. Human energy like the aura is effected by all of these energies, just as a human's energy can effect all of these other aspects of energy and their manipulation.
With that being said.
Can one charge a battery with Reiki? I believe it is possible that human energy can influence this technology, as I know people who can not wear watches because of how their energy effects the time keeping device with or without a battery. As any human has the potential to to learn to be an energy manipulator and is often one without realizing it.Thoughts are energy and those thoughts can often become our reality when we focus and put our energies towards the desired outcome.
Can a digital picture, video, or webpage, be charged with Reiki? I believe it is possible that human energy can influence this technology and I believe it is very possible to send energy through technology just as one could send a physical photo and letter with energy and intention behind it through the mail. If one can send Reiki through the universe to people physically far away from them, why not also use other forms of communication to help be sure that energy gets to where it needs to go. I personally feel the love when someone tells me via a text, post, or other form of digital communication that they are sending me some Reiki and the energy I feel is coming through multiple avenues including the device I am viewing it from. If you can't see the photo, video, or post then perhaps you can hear it depending on the specific communication and issue. Like I said the energy or information is coming through the universe through multiple avenues or pathways. The other aspect to remember is how well the other human receives the energy sent or how the energy effects them as this branch of the equation has a vast amount of variables and variants.
Being a medical practitioner, I’m interested to see your research on the repair of DNA at the atomic level. But to answer your question, I believe that the healing power of reiki comes from universal life form energy. That healing energy is directed into the body of the recipient. Now could that be at a molecular or atomic level? Perhaps yes. When it comes to medicine and pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics it’s easy to trace how it works. There are ways to measure that in a laboratory and conducting human trials. With reiki, it’s a little more difficult to actually trace the etiology. Hope this somewhat answers your question.
