I have recently found a few incenses I enjoy. While I will burn many three stick out for me as my favorites as of late.
I thought we might discuss our favorite incense for those of us able to burn it, and our reasons for choosing them.
1. Nag Champa.
This is my all time favorite and number one in so far. I found this year's ago, forgot about it, and only recently rediscovered it. This incense feels like home. My aunt gave me some from a spiritual shop we visited years ago, and very recently I came across it again.
2. Super Hit Nag Champa.
This I love as well and is my current second go to. It has the scent to me of laundry detergent. Light. Sweet.
3. Raven Spirit Incense.
From a Native Spirit incense collection and a company called harmonica (I believe) this incense to me reminds me of a darker practice and is true it seems to name. It reminds me of a what I call, creepy doll scent. This is something I like to burn while I listen to creepy doll ambient music, despite myself, not liking dolls at all.
What are some of your recent favorites? What draws you to these scents?
james has seen people light champa crowns before james likes the ash to use on himself for ash Wednesday james has a question do you use these scents only for herbal purposes and do you also practice ash Wednesday with the ashes of the scents? because he does not use scents
Depends on my mood and if my deity requests something. Musk, Dragon's blood, cinnamon and cherry are my favourites. My local occult shop has special blends for the sabbats that I also love. I feel the issue is who makes the product. Some incense is punching you in the face potent with their scent, while others claim they're vanilla but smell like dirty socks. It all comes down to the manufacturer. [and yes, you can make your own, but not everyone's comfortable with that. My opinion, if you can go to a shop where they make their own, go with that, but I've used dollar store incense that's just as good as fancy incense]
Agreed. They carry a lot of Satya at the local spiritual shop as well as that raven spirit stuff I like. Lately I have been wanting to try more Halloween or theme scents. I have been looking into ordering stamford mythical creatures blends online. I haven't seen any in shop.
As for making incense this is one thing I steer clear of. I feel like I wouldn't get the correct scent. I love brands that have a unique scent that reminds me of my practice.
Cherry is a nice scent, and I am fond as cinnamon as well. I like to add cinnamon to my Russian sage herbal packets. It lessens the potency of the sage like scent.
